Their class engagement increased for the very limited time we had together. They were no longer as cold as before and they loved the long-sleeved T-shirts. They also loved the fact that they were able to identify with young characters in our lesson.\r\n\r\nThe students were very self-conscious; they did not want to indicate their interest in the T-shirts and other items when in class as a group but gladly accepted the items when they could approach me privately (especially the boys). # girls came together to collect their T-shirts; they are the ones who took photographs with their \"Thank You\" notes.\r\n\r\nIt was difficult to get students to take pictures, write notes, etcetera because there were so many end of school year activities during the periods they were scheduled to have their classes with me. If I called them at other periods, it would their being called out of other classes. My classes just happened to fall in the first 3 periods of the school day.\r\n\r\nThis school year (2025-2026), I have a different assignment of teaching 7 different elementary schools - 2 schools per quarter/marking period - so it is difficult to continue the project. However, I look forward to continuing with this or similar projects as soon as I have a regular classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1746699551845,"projectUrl":"project/warm-students-are-eager-learners/9141520/","projectTitle":"Warm Students Are Eager Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Adewunmi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5200703"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97652","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1403,"numTeachers":102,"percentFrplEligible":82,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":77,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":31.7,"schoolId":97652,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John E Dwyer Technical Academy 82 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John E Dwyer Technical Academy 82","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/elizabeth-public-schools/john-e-dwyer-tech-academy/97652"}
