We now use it as the hub for our literacy centers. Each compartment holds materials for a different activity, and during our small-group rotations, students independently gather what they need and get right to work. One day during our reading block, I watched a group of students confidently roll the cart over, grab their materials, and begin a partner reading activity without any prompting. That level of independence and organization simply wasn't possible before, and it's helped maximize our learning time.\r\n\r\nThe My Weird School book collection has also been a huge hit. During a recent read-aloud, I introduced one of the books, and the students immediately connected with the humor and characters. What stood out most was how many students asked to continue reading the series on their own afterward. I had one student—who typically struggles to stay engaged—sit in the bean bag chair and read quietly for nearly 20 minutes, completely absorbed in the story. Moments like that are incredibly powerful.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was undeniable. Students were especially drawn to the books and the cozy reading space, and they couldn't wait to explore everything. There were lots of \"Can I read this next?\" and \"When do we get to use this?\"—a clear sign that they felt motivated and invested right away.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're building on this enthusiasm with a student-centered reading project. Students will choose a book from the collection, track their reading, and then create a response using writing and illustrations on the cardstock paper. They'll share their work with classmates, helping to build both comprehension and confidence. The storage cabinet will continue to support these rotations and keep everything accessible and organized.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making these experiences possible. Your generosity is helping create a classroom where students are excited to learn, take initiative, and grow every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769015442683,"projectUrl":"project/miss-cirones-classroom-dreams/10044517/","projectTitle":"Miss Cirone's Classroom Dreams","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cirone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10413532"},{"teacherId":10419017,"projectId":10060899,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, my students have been able to fully engage with our new classroom resources in meaningful and exciting ways. We recently used these materials during a hands-on literacy and project-based learning activity where students worked in small groups to research and present on natural disasters. With access to new books, supplies, and tools, they were able to dive deeper into their topics, collaborate more effectively, and take real ownership of their learning. One moment that truly stood out was watching a group of students confidently present their findings using visuals they created themselves—something they would not have been able to do without these resources.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. There were wide eyes, big smiles, and so many eager questions about when they could start using everything. For many of them, having access to fresh, high-quality resources made them feel valued and motivated. It transformed our classroom environment into one filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, and even my more hesitant learners were inspired to participate and explore. Your support made them feel seen and invested in, which has had a lasting impact on their confidence.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to play a vital role in our classroom. We are building on our current projects by incorporating more student-led research, creative presentations, and collaborative problem-solving activities. Next, students will be applying their knowledge to design solutions for real-world challenges related to what they've learned, using the tools you provided. Your contribution has not only enhanced a single lesson—it has helped create ongoing opportunities for deeper learning, creativity, and growth. Students now have the tools they need to fully participate in lessons without worrying about not having basic supplies. This has allowed them to stay focused, confident, and engaged in their work.\r\n\r\nThe books have been especially exciting for my third graders. Because of you, our learning space has been completely transformed, and I am so grateful for the impact this project has already had on my students.\r\nThe new rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom. It's where students gather for morning meetings, read-alouds, and small group discussions. Having a comfortable, welcoming space has helped students feel more relaxed, focused, and ready to learn together.\r\nThe new lighting has made a huge difference as well. The softer, warmer lights have created a calm and inviting atmosphere that helps students stay engaged throughout the day. I've noticed that students are more at ease, especially during independent work and reading time.\r\nThe new bookshelves have allowed us to organize our classroom library in a way that makes books more accessible and exciting for students. Now they can easily find books that interest them, which has encouraged more independent reading and a greater love for learning.\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students now have a classroom that feels safe, comfortable, and inspiring.
