They started going to good use before the last school year ever ended. \r\n\r\nTo begin, the NIX hair lice kits have helped families already who are struggling to get the supplies they need to treat their child's hair properly. 2 families were identified so far that could use the kits this year. The parents were so thankful for the help. It allowed me to help educate the parent of the proper process for ridding of lice. \r\n\r\nThe next part of my donations that have been and will continue to be impactful are the deodorants. After teaching my puberty/hygiene lessons to the 5th grades students along with the gym teacher, we will be giving students students small zipper bags where they can store their deodorant, donated brushes, and pads for the girls. \r\n\r\nThe soap and bath puffs that were donated will be accessible to any student in need. They received lessons from me last year about proper skin care and the impact it has on overall health. Many of our students come from low income families and often are embarrassed about this issue. All students know they can come to me for soap, deodorant to help them feel better.
