The moment my students walked in and saw the colorful Hawaiian decorations, their faces lit up with pure excitement. From flower leis to fun beach-themed decor and gifts, every detail helped create a magical atmosphere that celebrated their hard work and growth throughout the year.\r\n\r\nAs a first-year teacher, it meant so much to be able to give my students this special day—something many of them had never experienced before. We danced to our morning meeting songs, took photos at our DIY photo booths and reflected on everything we've learned since the first day of school. It was the perfect send-off into summer and a beautiful way to wrap up kindergarten.\r\n\r\nYour support gave these young learners a moment of pride, joy, and connection that they'll always remember. Thank you for making that possible. Up next, many of my students are preparing to enter first grade with more confidence and excitement because they know their hard work is seen and celebrated.","fullyFundedDate":1747687734729,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-end-of-year-celebration/9365942/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten End-of-Year Celebration","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Idrissi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10029964_orig.jpg?crop=1018,1018,x52,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746754486227","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10029964"},{"teacherId":6063697,"projectId":9129563,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your incredible support of our 6th grade Special Education class. When the new materials arrived, my students were beyond excited. For many of them, having access to tools that are designed with their learning needs in mind made a huge difference. One student hugged the box and said, \"Is this really for us?\" I'll never forget that moment.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the resources every day, since I opened the first box that arrived. One of our favorite projects so far has been a hands-on literacy station where students rotate through activities that support reading comprehension and vocabulary building. Thanks to the box of colored copy paper each student can create and design their own book. For example, during a recent story mapping activity, one student drew picture cards to retell a story independently. This particular student has difficulty reading—it was a big win for both of us!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're starting a unit on community awareness. The resources you helped fund will be key as we practice communication, problem-solving, boundaries and social interaction. You've done more than donate materials—you've helped create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where my students can thrive. Thank you for being part of their journey.","fullyFundedDate":1746806591792,"projectUrl":"project/going-to-places-beyond-my-imagination/9129563/","projectTitle":"Going to Places Beyond My Imagination","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Albright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6063697"},{"teacherId":9856946,"projectId":8986298,"letterContent":"My students were over the moon excited to see all of the supplies we received to help them complete their writing assignments with ease! The noise cancelling headphones were put into a quiet corner for writing which helped a lot of the students focus free from distractions. The pencil grips were put into a bin labeled \"tired fingers\" so the students can grab them at any time when they feel they can't write anymore due to fatigue. This has really helped increase their writing time without frustration while strengthening their little fingers at the same time. \r\nThe Hi-Write notebooks have been a god send for all the teachers to read their writing which is now more legible. These hands-on tools have made abstract math concepts more tangible, allowing students to visualize and physically interact with their lessons. One particularly exciting moment was during a recent fractions lesson, where students used the manipulatives to compare and create equivalent fractions. Watching their faces light up as they made connections and confidently explained their reasoning was a reminder of how impactful these resources are. The stools have also created a comfortable, focused space for small-group collaboration, helping students work together more effectively. \r\n\r\nThe excitement when my students first saw these new materials was incredible. They eagerly gathered around, asking, \"Can we use them now?\" Their enthusiasm was a testament to how much these resources mean to them and how they enhance their daily learning experience. Moving forward, we are diving into geometry, and the manipulatives will continue to play a key role in helping students build shapes, measure angles, and strengthen their spatial reasoning skills.
