Your gift has given my students the opportunity to experience pottery in a completely new and exciting way. For many of my students, this was their first time ever using a pottery wheel, and they were immediately fascinated by the process of turning a simple piece of clay into something they could create with their own hands.\r\n\r\nStudents have been learning the basics of working on the wheel, including centering clay, opening the clay, pulling up the walls, and shaping their own vessels. There is definitely a learning curve, but watching students go from struggling to center their clay to proudly creating their first small bowl or cup has been incredibly rewarding. The wheel has also encouraged students to be patient, problem-solve, and learn from mistakes—skills that go far beyond the art room.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have access to an experience that I would not have been able to provide without your support. We are excited to continue practicing our wheel-throwing skills and eventually challenge ourselves with larger and more complex pottery projects. Thank you for investing in my students and giving them the chance to get their hands dirty, be creative, and discover what they are capable of creating!","fullyFundedDate":1778354117822,"projectUrl":"project/give-students-a-clay-experience/10027301/","projectTitle":"Give Students a Clay Experience","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10405745"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55083","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":540,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":60,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.6,"schoolId":55083,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Russell O Brackman Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Russell O Brackman Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/barnegat-township-school-district/russell-o-brackman-middle-school/55083"}
