Your contribution has done more than simply add books to our shelves—it has helped create a space where our multilingual learners can see themselves, their language, and their identities reflected and valued.\r\n\r\nFor many of our ML learners, reading in English can still feel like a challenge. While they are developing their skills, it is essential that they continue to build a love of reading—and your donation has made that possible. Now, our students have access to a library that truly speaks their language. They can engage deeply with texts, build comprehension, and experience the joy of reading without the barrier of language slowing them down.\r\n\r\nThe new Spanish texts are helping us teach and reinforce critical literacy skills in meaningful ways. Students are practicing comprehension strategies such as making predictions, identifying main ideas, and drawing conclusions—all in a language they fully understand. This strengthens their overall reading ability, which naturally transfers into their English learning as well. We are also able to explore vocabulary development, story structure, character analysis, and cultural connections with greater depth and confidence.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an active, engaging experience. You might see students gathered in small groups discussing a story, independently reading books that truly interest them, or participating in read-alouds where they eagerly make connections and share their thoughts. With these new books, students are more confident, more willing to participate, and more excited to read.\r\n\r\nThere are several students in particular who have been especially impacted. Some who were previously hesitant to pick up a book are now eagerly choosing Spanish texts and reading for extended periods of time. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has created opportunities, built confidence, and inspired a deeper love of reading in our students. We are so grateful for your support in helping us meet the needs of all learners and in recognizing the importance of language, culture, and access in education.","fullyFundedDate":1767280529293,"projectUrl":"project/a-library-that-speaks-their-language/9924641/","projectTitle":"A Library That Speaks Their Language","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Patti","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9323177"},{"teacherId":9323177,"projectId":9149171,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for the generous donation of our laminator. At our Pre-K to 4th grade school, this resource has made a tremendous difference—not only in my classroom, but throughout our entire building. Not only myself but multiple teachers are now able to create durable, reusable materials that support student learning every day. From visual schedules and center activities to classroom labels and anchor charts, the laminator has brought excitement, creativity, and longevity to the resources we rely on.\r\n\r\nAs an ML teacher who also works with G&T students, I love designing hands-on activities and games tailored to their individual needs. Thanks to this donation, the materials I create can now last far longer, allowing students to use them again and again with pride. Families have also been able to keep student-made projects in great condition, turning classroom work into meaningful keepsakes.
