One held her class in the library every Friday afternoon for three weeks. After they watched the portion of the movie that covered what they had read that week, students who were caught up in their work were free to enjoy playing in the library. This was a fun way for them to end their week during a busy time of the school year. The other teacher used visiting the library for games as an incentive for students to complete their work. Any day of the week during the unit, if a student finished their work they were free to visit the library for games I had waiting for them.\r\n\r\nOnce the games had been introduced, students started visiting during other classes as well when their work was finished, asking me to get out specific games. The favorites last Spring were Rhymes with Duck, I'm a Poet, and The Battle of Wills. Listening to students laugh together while making rhymes or quoting the book/movie was a daily pleasure. They need time to socialize positively during the school day for their social emotional wellbeing in addition to connecting to academic material.\r\n\r\nYour generosity enabled me to support teachers and engage students during a hectic time of the year, and allowed me to diversify the library's list of available activities.
