Because of you, our young students have used the play-doh as a hands on tool to assist with literacy- making letters and words as they create. One of our goals is to increase project-based learning opportunities and without your support, we wouldn't be able to do this as well as we are able to now. \r\nKeva planks are an inclusive and flexible tool that can be used to teach any subject in a safe and engaging way. The pictures show our students' creativity as they built Turkeys from planks before our Thanksgiving holiday. Engineering and construction methods are also discussed as students work to create sturdy towers. \r\nThe new sewing machine will be invaluable as we embark on our sewing unit in the new year. Each student will hand-sew seams for their very own pillow cases. Donated fabric in vibrant colors will allow them to express their personalities and have something they can use daily in their homes. The sewing machine will allow us to sure up seams and to create a finished opening edge for each child. \r\nThank you doesn't say enough. We are so grateful for your generosity. Because of you, the students at SAU 18 have more of the materials they need to create and collaborate. One of our goals is to increase project-based learning opportunities and without your support, we wouldn't be able to do this as well as we are able to now. \r\nKeva blocks are an amazing building tool. They are a go-to in all 3 at any level- Elementary School, Middle School and High School. If you have not checked this tool out, I would highly recommend it. The students gravitate toward this tool during classes and during free time. Invaluable!\r\nOur students have used the tape, cutting mats, glue guns and cardboard for numerous projects. Using the design thinking model, they identified a problem and worked to solve the problem using simple tools (see the supply holder in the pictures). \r\nThe basswood sheets are being used to create amazing signage for spaces, teachers desks/offices etc. There are plans for them to be used in a jewelry making class this spring. \r\nThank you doesn't say enough.
