My students are so excited to be back in the art room this year, rather than learning online and drawing on scrap paper. This is my first year teaching, and all of the clay from the past teacher has dried out and is unusable due to the pandemic. The school's kiln is also not in working order, but the high school art teacher has kindly offered space in their kiln until we can get proper ventilation installed. After surveying my students, I know they are extremely hopeful to be able to use clay to make functional pottery and sculptures!
