We've officially integrated the lap tables into our daily routine, and they have become an absolute game-changer for our writing and math blocks. Instead of being confined to traditional desks, my students now have the freedom to grab a table, head to the carpet, and find a cozy spot where they feel truly comfortable. It's amazing how a simple shift in posture and setting can boost their focus; they are much more engaged in their classwork when they have a workspace that feels \"just right\" for them.\r\n\r\nThe moment I unveiled the new materials was a highlight of our school year. You should have seen their faces—they were genuinely surprised and absolutely beamed when they saw the vibrant, beautiful colors of the tables. To add to the excitement, we also used the Valentine's items as special gifts. Seeing those wide smiles and the pure joy as they explored their new supplies was a powerful reminder of how much it means to them to have \"new\" and \"special\" things of their own.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are moving into a creative narrative unit where these lap tables will serve as our \"Author Stations.\" Now that the students have a workspace that supports their independence, our next step is to begin drafting original stories where they can \"set up shop\" anywhere in the room to let their imaginations run wild. One is for math manipulative storage and the other I use as a bookshelf. Because of your generosity, the students at our school now have access to meaningful social emotional learning tools that are making a real difference ever day. I've been able to use the laminator to create durable token boards that help reinforce positive behaviors and provide structure for our students who benefit from visual supports. The feelings themed resources, the book sets, dough mats, and the Big Feelings Pineapple, have allowed us to explore emotions in hands on, engaging ways. One especially powerful moment was during a group activity when a student used the breathing pal from the calming corner to regulate their emotions independently, which was something they had previous struggled to do. It was a proud, and emotional, moment for both of us.\r\n\r\nWhen our materials arrived, the students who encountered them were beyond excited. Their faces lit up with curiosity as I explained each item. They loved the sensory tools and the interactive games. Many actually gravitated towards the mindful maze boards as they now had a tangible item to help them with their breathing strategies we had worked on prior. These resources have helped create an environment where students feel safe expressing their emotions and learning how to manage them. It has truly transformed not just our lessons, but the overall atmosphere of our school\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are continuing to build on these skills through daily social emotional learning routines and small group activities. With these new materials, students are able to roleplay, reflect, and apply what they learn in meaningful and lasting ways. Your generosity has given our students tools that will benefit them far beyond the classroom, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1768509646279,"projectUrl":"project/providing-social-emotional-learning-to-o/10012907/","projectTitle":"Providing Social Emotional Learning to Our Entire School!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ockenfels","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10402882"},{"teacherId":8125625,"projectId":10011245,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to my classroom. The start of the new semester I like to replenish my students' supplies so they can \"start the new year fresh.\" In my current situation I was worried that I would not be able to do it this year, but with your help, my class was able to get new supplies. \r\n\r\nMy students were so curious when they saw boxes being delivered to the classroom. I decided to do an \"unboxing\" with them to show them all the new supplies we received. They were ecstatic! With each new item their eyes got wider and their excitement grew. For the past few weeks they have had to share white board markers so the students were looking forward to have their own whiteboard marker and erasers. They have been more eager to solve math problems, answer questions, and show their work on their whiteboards now that each student has their own supplies. They were most excited to see the rewards. With the new rewards, behaviors have decreased and their motivation to work hard and follow the 3 B's (be respectful, be responsible, be safe) has been more prominent.","fullyFundedDate":1768341357603,"projectUrl":"project/new-semester-new-start/10011245/","projectTitle":"New Semester, New Start","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Esteban","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8125625_orig.jpg?crop=1205,1205,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768194910934","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8125625"},{"teacherId":4283149,"projectId":9992183,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my library. Thanks to your contribution, I was able to restock several highly sought-after graphic novel series, including The Baby-Sitters Club, Five Nights at Freddy's, Hooky, I Survived, and Wings of Fire.\r\n\r\nAs a librarian, it is often a challenge to keep pace with the rapid release of new volumes in these popular series. Our students are such voracious readers that they often finish a series and eagerly await the next installment before we can acquire it. Your gift has allowed us to bridge that gap. Furthermore, the high-quality, library-bound format of these books ensures they will withstand years of heavy use by our young readers.\r\n\r\nTo celebrate this gift, I have created a dedicated bulletin board to display the new arrivals. The response has been overwhelming; we currently have a constant \"on-hold\" list as students compete to get their hands on the latest volumes.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for your vital role in encouraging a lifelong love of reading in our students.
