Because of you, my students now have access to engaging books that we are using to create interactive notebooks designed specifically for my special education learners.\r\n\r\nThese books have become more than just reading material—they are tools for hands-on learning. My students are cutting, sorting, highlighting, and responding directly to the text in ways that meet their individual learning needs. The interactive notebooks help break down complex concepts, reinforce comprehension, and give students a concrete way to show what they know.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the notebooks have increased student confidence and engagement. Many of my learners who once felt overwhelmed by traditional worksheets are now excited to open their notebooks and participate. They feel successful, proud of their work, and motivated to keep learning.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has made a lasting impact in my classroom. We are using the gardening tools, organic seeds, trays, shelf liners, and monitoring tools to grow herbs and vegetables while studying plant life cycles, environmental conditions, and sustainable growing practices. Students regularly check temperature and humidity, record data, and problem-solve together when plants need extra care. One memorable moment was watching students work as a team to safely treat plants with neem oil—discussing why organic solutions matter and how science connects to real-world choices.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were thrilled. They eagerly unpacked tools, examined the seed varieties, and immediately began asking thoughtful questions about how each item would be used. The tool tote, measuring tools, magnetic graph paper, and whiteboards have helped us stay organized and intentional, while also giving students clear roles and responsibilities. These resources have also supported social-emotional learning—students practice collaboration, patience, and perseverance as they care for living things and manage shared classroom spaces.\r\n\r\nNext, students will expand their hydroponics project by analyzing growth data, graphing trends, and reflecting on how environmental changes impact plant health. They will connect their learning to sustainability, food systems, and responsible resource use. Thanks to you, students aren't just learning about science—they're living it. Your support has made our classroom a place where curiosity grows alongside confidence, responsibility, and teamwork.","fullyFundedDate":1768591609440,"projectUrl":"project/planting-growing-knowledge/9960472/","projectTitle":"Planting & Growing Knowledge","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Overstreet","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3279939_orig.jpg?crop=724,724,x25,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1562514760185","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/fritsch4thgate"},{"teacherId":3279939,"projectId":9473727,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! Because they are magnetic, we'll also be able to use them with word tiles, number tiles, and other hands-on learning tools.
