During this time, I am able to sit and listen to students read to me one-on-one, and also help students near me with words they have trouble with while reading independently.\r\n\r\nMy plan is to continue incorporating quiet reading time in our \"Cozy Corner\" into our schedule, as well as add some other reading activities as the year goes on. I would eventually like to add \"Flashlight Fridays\" where the students use a flashlight to read in the dark independently or with a partner. This will be so fun to do with our new furniture. In previous years, I've had my students wear their pajamas to school on the day we get out for Christmas break and we enjoy some fun books and writing activities while we sip on hot chocolate or apple cider.
