The moment we unboxed everything, my students were instantly curious and excited. The colorful characters, soft design, and simple tap-to-play function made them easy for even my youngest learners to jump right in.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, listening comprehension is a big part of how they grow as readers. The Tonieboxes give them the chance to independently listen to stories and songs—building vocabulary, fluency, and a love for storytelling, all while giving them a break from screens. They're especially helpful during literacy centers and quiet reading time. I can already see stronger engagement, especially from students who don't typically gravitate toward books on their own.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular—who often struggles to stay focused during independent work—has truly connected with the Toniebox. Now, he looks forward to literacy time because he knows he gets to listen to a Tonie. He's even started retelling the stories to his classmates afterward, something he had a hard time doing before!\r\n\r\nIt's hard to describe just how joyful this new addition has been. One of my favorite moments was when students were able to collaborate to build something using the manipulatives you donated. Students were not only engaging in STEM but also building on their social-emotional skills as they communicated with their peers, as well as built on the skill of problem-solving. It was clear these resources sparked their curiosity and creativity!
