The table at the back of my classroom is where some of my most important work takes place. If a student is struggling with multiplying fractions (or any other concept), he comes back to my table for interventions where we can work through some reteaching and examples together until he can master it all on his own, giving him the self-confidence to complete any fraction problem I throw at him. But if he is so distracted by being unable to even fit his chair under the table we are sitting at, how can he focus on the things I am asking his brain to work overtime on? This is where these chairs come in. They are the perfect size for fitting underneath my table (and any table the school district has) because they are height adjustable and not too wide. My current chairs have legs that get twisted up into the legs of the table and slam into the other students sitting at the table. These stools are also nice because 5th graders don't come in one-size-fits-all! Every child will find a chair they can fit comfortably in. Speaking of comfortably, these chairs also have a soft top on the seat so all body types will fit nicely at my table and be able to concentrate on the task at hand. Lastly, these are wobble chairs, which allow fidgeting to take place. I haven't come across too many 10-year olds who sit perfectly still for more than 30 seconds. For those students who need to move in order to help their brain "move", these chairs will be a perfect place to get to work.
