There are many things that we asked for to help make our students more successful. The sensory strips have been helpful to put on students' desks in the classroom, so they have something to feel when they are feeling anxious. The pencils, pens, and dry-erase markers have been helpful for students to use while they are doing their work. The chairs are helping with the teachers being able to move around in small groups to help students in need. Lastly, the laminating sheets have helped with making sure the students have the opportunity to reuse the sheets they are working on to have repetition to get better at the skill they are working on. The students were so excited to see all the new items that were funded. We have been adding items to our sensory room. The Seesaw bouncy has been a hit. The students love move on that and being able to figure out how to get the marbles to move. The markers and glue sticks are in our life skills room and help students with making crafts during their time in the classroom. Right now, they are working on gluing pieces on a crown for Labor Day. The markers have been used for crafts. At the beginning of the year, students have been learning about growth and fixed mindsets. The students were able to color their own brain with markers. Lastly, the pedal bikes have been nice for student movement. They use this to get some energy out before going back to class. All of the items are being used, and the kids have loved them. The caddy has been so nice to have because it helps everyone stay organized throughout the day by having all of our materials ready to go. It also helps with access during group. The cord holder helps organize the cords for students who use iPads to communicate. The cord holders have helped the space stay organized and be able to manage better. The light covers and frosted glass have helped with the brightness and mood of the classroom. The frosted glass has helped with privacy in the classroom and helps learning still happen.
