Through your help, my first year as a school counselor has been great. The resources that were because of your donations have helped multiple students across many different grade levels during our small group times. The posters are hanging in my office and when students come to visit me they are often reading through the posters finding what calming strategies, or even where they are at in the zone of regulation. This has helped many conversations to flow more easily and for students to have something to direct them. \r\n\r\nI work with a wide variety of students across K-8. The card games, posters, and mediation cards work with all ages. I have been able to use these resources with any of the students who come into the room. While most of them think they are just playing a game, they are in fact learning more about themselves and how to process information. \r\n\r\nI plan to continue to use these resources to assist students throughout this school year and into the next. All of my current students are so happy with the new additions to the office and I know they will be treasured for many years.","fullyFundedDate":1756175074557,"projectUrl":"project/counseling-in-the-now/9286927/","projectTitle":"Counseling in the Now","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lewis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8959631_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1676301958109","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8959631"},{"teacherId":9724948,"projectId":9471718,"letterContent":"Your generous donation has added variety to my classroom library. We now have new, modern books that students can be excited to read. I have a lot of students who are not willing to read. It is easier to persuade them to try one of these new books over books that their parents had when they were in the same classroom. (I had a student find his mom's name on an old library card in a book yesterday). \r\n\r\nThe books in the series you helped put in my classroom will be used to encourage independent reading. The texts we read through our curriculum are seen by students as necessary reading, not reading for enjoyment. Using the skills they practice in our curriculum, they will be better able to enjoy books they choose to read. \r\n\r\nThank you again for these books that will be enjoyed by students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1755692768877,"projectUrl":"project/help-start-our-first-chapter-friday-coll/9471718/","projectTitle":"Help Start Our First Chapter Friday Collection","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Detlaff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9724948"},{"teacherId":9742233,"projectId":9538127,"letterContent":"My students were sooo excited when all of the materials came!!! \r\n\r\nThey were especially excited about the rocker chairs and they use those everyday! :) They have really been enjoying the playground equipment and take it out with them at EVERY recess! :) They have been enjoying the new stories as I have been reading to them and they were rolling in stitches when I read them The Book with No Pictures! lol.
