Students are using the new Tinker Toys, Magna-Tiles, Stacking Stones, and LEGOs during STEM centers and \"Tinker Time\" to design structures, build towers and bridges, and work together to solve problems. One of our favorite moments so far has been watching students showing persistence, teamwork, and real engineering thinking.\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were beyond excited! Their faces lit up as they explored the bins, and they immediately began sharing ideas, asking questions, and collaborating. Several students who are usually hesitant to participate jumped right in, confident and engaged as they built and experimented.\r\nNext, students will use these materials to support our science and math lessons by exploring balance, stability, and structure. They'll continue to plan, build, test, and reflect on their designs, strengthening both STEM skills and communication. Your support has given students meaningful opportunities to learn through play, curiosity, and creativity, and we are so thankful for it!","fullyFundedDate":1763599924600,"projectUrl":"project/tinker-time-building-bright-minds-with/9872721/","projectTitle":"Tinker Time: Building Bright Minds with STEM!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bogovich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9770894_orig.jpg?crop=1844,1845,x0,y202&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727995439539","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9770894"},{"teacherId":9798543,"projectId":8972768,"letterContent":"When the stools arrived, my students were immediately excited to try them out. They quickly discovered how easy it was to move the stools to different areas of the classroom, which made transitioning between independent work and group projects much smoother. The new seating has given students more ownership over how they learn, and it's been amazing to see how something so simple can create such a positive shift in engagement.\r\n\r\nTheir initial reactions were filled with smiles, excitement, and even a few \"wows\" as they realized these stools would let them choose how they wanted to learn each day. Many students commented on how much easier it was to focus when they weren't fidgeting in their old chairs. As we move forward, these stools will continue to play a big role in our classroom. With these new resources, our next steps are to deepen collaboration and keep encouraging students to take ownership of their learning in ways that work best for them.","fullyFundedDate":1741521736342,"projectUrl":"project/support-flexible-learning-help-us-get/8972768/","projectTitle":"\"Support Flexible Learning: Help Us Get Seating Stools!\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ranstrom","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9798543_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733196681690","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798543"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78590","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":471,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.3,"schoolId":78590,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jeannette Rankin Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jeannette Rankin Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/missoula-county-public-school-district-1/cold-springs-elementary-school/78590"}
