The new lapboards allow all of my students the opportunity to sit around the classroom comfortably to work with partners and independently. \r\nOf course the biggest attraction and class favorite is the new rug. It's extremely comfortable, the perfect size, and a huge upgrade to the front of our classroom. My second graders can's wait for social studies to come around so they can read and learn about our great state. In January my students and our buddy 4th grade class will publish a book called All Around Montana. They will be researching different places, tribes, and people of Montana. Their primary resource will be their new books. They are so excited to start their books. They are already putting bookmarks in their books about the information they want to share in their books.\r\n\r\nHaving this wonderful resource offers my students factual information about Montana. They are able to compare and contrast the past and present and make a formative decision if the change was for the better or not. It also removed a lot of the bias against Native Americans and gave them a realistic view of what happened.\r\n\r\nHere are comments my 2nd grade students said about their new Montana: A History of our Home.\r\n\r\nToby: The pictures are really cool.\r\nMikey: The pictures are realistic.\r\nElijah: I like learning more about Montana.\r\nBrooklyn: The words are just right for me to read.\r\nAvery: We learn more about Montana with facts.\r\nNaomi: They tell us facts about people in Montana. They used the pictures to help tell us about facts about Montana.\r\nGeorgie: It is fun to read. The words are perfect for me to read.\r\nKipptin: I liked that it tells us about people that lived in Montana and those that died.\r\nEaston: There is so much cool history about Montana in this book. It was cool to learn about the mountains and the rivers and how they got their names. I learned how they found the rivers.\r\nFletcher: Native American language is hard to read.\r\nJacob: The book teaches us about service jobs and service workers.\r\nCamden: It's interesting learning about American Indians. I liked learning about that they were here way before us.\r\nElla: The pictures help me if I didn't know the words. The pictures are detailed.\r\nJustin: We learned about what Montana was like a long time ago.\r\nHailey: It was cool that they told us about facts. They used realistic pictures.\r\nSaige: I liked that there were dogs that would help the Native Americans.\r\n\r\nWhy should you get this book for your classroom?\r\nSaige: You learn from it.\r\nEaston: You can learn how to build teepees and bird houses and the different materials the Native Americans used. You learn how the Native Americans made their food. You learn about dogs and their roles in sniffing out prey and predators. The pictures are very helpful.\r\nNaomi: It gives kids a boost how to read because it's interesting. It tells kids and people about wildlife in the past. It explains how the Native Americans got their food.\r\nGeorgie: It helps you learn more about Montana. It teaches you about rivers and lakes.\r\nHailey: It teaches you a lot of stuff about different people.\r\nBrooklyn: It teaches you how to identify different rocks and minerals. You learn how the Native Americans hunted animals in the Ice Age.\r\nElla: You learn more about Native Americans.\r\nAvery: You learn about where and how Native Americans got their clothing.\r\nCamden: It will help kids learn about American Indians. It is important so we don't repeat the past.\r\nMikey: It helps us learn about Native Americans and how they played an important role in Montana.\r\nToby: You learn about different weather in different parts of the state.\r\nI like how it is set up and organized. It is easy to follow. The print is easy to read. \r\n\r\nAll of this wonderful learning is due because of your kind generosity.\r\n\r\nThank you for allowing my students the opportunity to learn more in depth and factual information about the great state in which they live in.","fullyFundedDate":1725973360341,"projectUrl":"project/reading-all-about-montana/8754568/","projectTitle":"Reading All About Montana","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Folz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9739694_orig.jpg?crop=2544,2544,x2511,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733769895051","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9739694"},{"teacherId":9699196,"projectId":8691386,"letterContent":"You cannot begin to understand the impact of your generosity. They monitor their fluency and rate while they examine the author's rich descriptions of the characters or settings.\r\nThe students' excitement and interest in reading has not only led to improvement in their overall oral reading fluency, but in comprehension and interest in history and science as well.","fullyFundedDate":1725672318538,"projectUrl":"project/access-literature-through-history/8691386/","projectTitle":"Access Literature Through History","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Krasovich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9699196"},{"teacherId":9697847,"projectId":8689533,"letterContent":"My class has been learning all about homesteading.
