From the moment my items started to arrive, they started to make a positive impact. They are being used to supplement my social-emotional lessons, teach independence, and model academic skills. \r\n\r\nBibliotherapy is such a fantastic way to combine SEL, reading skills, and science. I like to start by reading books about the brain to help my littles understand how the brain works. We are then able to take that knowledge and start developing SEL skills, including building a growth mindset, perseverance, and resilience. \r\n\r\nModeling using a document camera is a game-changer for teaching. When teaching reading, I am able to use it to model blending. I can use the I do, we do, you do method and because it is projected, my kinders are able to follow along better because I am showing them how. From there, my students are able to start doing it on their own, independently. Children don't magically know how to do most things, they must learn them! I wouldn't expect a child to understand that we read from the left to the right all on their own. It is a skill that is either explicitly taught or they've learned through observation. \r\n\r\nMy students are truly benefiting from this project each and every day.","fullyFundedDate":1725800214871,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-books-and-supplies/8742323/","projectTitle":"Classroom Books and Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Himsl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3205413_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1457736766179","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3205413"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78762","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":375,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":50,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":9,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":56.5,"schoolId":78762,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Irle Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Irle Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/glasgow-school-district-1-a/irle-elementary-school/78762"}
