I was able to set up a STEM area in my with all the wonderful hands-on kits, manipulatives, and supplies on my wishlist. Many of my students this year are students I taught last year, and their reaction to this new area was priceless! They were so excited for an area to learn in through projects and creativity.\r\n\r\n So far, we have built structures that would hold several books, built the tallest structure using a specific amount of materials, as well as logged multiple hours of unstructured use through free-time opportunities when students have finished their work. The students love a fun break in the day with these materials.\r\n\r\n I was hoping to provide my students with opportunities to be problem-solvers, creators, and engineers, and this has been the result of this STEM station I was able to create only because of your generosity. This gift is used daily and has been so impactful.\r\n\r\nIn order to increase my students' mathematical skills, I use two computer-based programs to increase math fact fluency and strengthen skills in solving problems. These programs are both curated to the students' specific needs and goals, so no one is at the same spot in the programs. Having headphones to help students focus on their specific instructions has been amazing. They have also helped decrease distractions, keeping them on task.\r\n\r\nProviding my class with this new equipment would not have been possible without your kindness and amazing donation. My students have commented often about how much they love these new headphones and how nice they are to use. We've all noticed a huge difference!
