Of course, they wanted to keep them in their desks! After some discussion they all agreed that would NOT be a good idea as it could result in broken clocks.\r\n\r\nIt was interesting to see how many of them were intrigued by the movement of the clock hands. These are the first clocks I have had students use that have the \"seconds\" hand. At first, they seemed to be surprised by how fast that hand moved in comparison to the hour and minute hands which led to a discussion about the relationship between the hands\r\n\r\nWe are just beginning to focus on telling time on analog clocks and their level of understanding varies. I plan to have them practice for a short period of time each day, as repeated practice is needed for them to become independent in this skill. In January we will also use the clocks as a tool to discuss fractions as the clock is a great tool to illustrate halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, and twelfths.","fullyFundedDate":1726070503132,"projectUrl":"project/understand-and-visualize-time-with-analo/8702434/","projectTitle":"Understand and Visualize Time With Analog Clocks","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Langin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9706496"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78443","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":277,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":50.9,"schoolId":78443,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Whittier Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Whittier Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/bozeman-school-district-7/whittier-elementary-school/78443"}
