I have used Mira Canion books before they are fun. She makes reading easier and fun with comprehensible input and historical facts. I gave them background information about the topic and ask them thought provoking questions to make them think and guess about what they may learn in the book. After we read, I scaffold questions orally when we first start reading the first chapters. I check for understanding with questions Then as they get more independent in their reading and understanding I don't need to scaffold as much. \r\nFor both levels I have questions in Spanish and vocabulary. They illustrated key scenes in each chapter. For level 2 I had them write synopsis for each chapter and draw a picture. For the final assessment they wrote a synopsis in Spanish for a proficiency grade. \r\nThe Level 3 book was a little above most reading levels in my class but I scaffolded it with vocabulary/grammar/background information and its historical background and hey illustrated key points for better understanding","fullyFundedDate":1727376820810,"projectUrl":"project/spanish-readers-ladder-to-a-world-of-fu/8759746/","projectTitle":"Spanish Readers: Ladder to a World of Fun and Understanding","teacherDisplayName":"Sra. Students were able to easily comprehend the play without sacrificing the essence of Shakespeare.\r\n\r\nTo begin, these books gave them more confidence to read the play aloud--with puppets! They performed in front of the class for several of the Acts. \r\n\r\nThe books also allowed them to better complete their characterization worksheets. They had to map out how Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were dynamic characters. Part of the assignment was locating quotes that showed what type of person they each were. This book helped them to find quotes and UNDERSTAND them. It was great.\r\n\r\nWe really appreciate your generous donation. I can say with confidence that almost 90% of my students have now read and \"owned\" this book given the accessibility that was provided with this project. \r\n\r\nIn the 10 years that I've taught this book, this has easily been the most fun I've had guiding students through this classic. For example, we just finished up our unit on projectiles and vectors. It was necessary for the students to have a scientific calculator in order to calculate trigonometric functions that allow us to analyze the trajectory of these projectiles. \r\n\r\nThe most exciting part of these new calculators is that they are not exciting at all. They are an essential tool for students on a daily basis. Just as important as paper and pencils.
