Students are becoming more excited about choosing books, listening to stories, and exploring books independently. The listening center has provided opportunities for students to develop independence while building important early literacy skills, including print awareness, listening comprehension, and an understanding that print carries meaning. Most importantly, students are beginning to see reading as an enjoyable activity, helping foster curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of reading.\r\n\r\nWhen I first brought the MeReaders into the classroom my students were so excited. It did take some time to individually show each one how to utilize the resource but after they understood, they really seem to enjoy the independence it gives them to enjoy a story. They each picked a theme that they really enjoyed. One of my students has been obsessed with the one containing Finding Dory. The Super Hereos collection has been a bit hit with my boys and the girls really enjoy the Disney Princess collection. With the Tonie Box they really enjoy the Laurie Berkner one to dance to and when it comes to stories The Curious George one has been really enjoyed. \r\n\r\nThe next project I am working on is providing more STEM opportunities to my students by raising funds for a Light Table.
