We are using our new sensory materials throughout the school day to help our students explore, learn, and regulate their emotions. Our students are learning how to use sensory tools when they need a break, help with big feelings, or support staying focused during classroom activities. These resources are especially helpful for our little learners as they develop communication, independence, and classroom routines.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited to explore the new materials! They enjoyed touching, trying, and discovering the different sensory items. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they explored at their own pace. For some of our students who have limited verbal communication, these materials provide another way to engage with their environment, express their needs, and participate in learning.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue incorporating these resources into our daily routines, small-group activities, and calming spaces. We will help students learn which tools work best for them and how to use them appropriately when they feel overwhelmed or need help focusing. We are excited to watch our students grow in their ability to communicate their needs, manage their emotions, and participate more independently in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and helping us create a classroom where every child has the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
