They are excited to read classic mysteries and put their detective skills to the test. We have been diving into the world of Sherlock Holmes/forensics, and their excitement to come into library after school and read each week, has been wonderful to witness. We have been using both graphic novels and classic text, so that all reading levels are welcome. Recreating literary crime scenes with each tale, has been so much fun. I have also noticed that having group evidence collecting, working to cultivate literary suspect lists, and having many group discussions about text has given all students the chance to shine and has really helped several students to open up. In addition to helping reading comprehension, deductive reasoning, and improved critical thinking skills, almost all of the students involved have said it has given them the opportunity to make new friends across grade levels.\r\nAgain, thank you so much for helping me fund this wonderful club that we plan to continue in the future!","fullyFundedDate":1761262243295,"projectUrl":"project/skaith-school-sleuths/9849572/","projectTitle":"Skaith School Sleuths","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grable","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10325061_orig.jpg?crop=1476,1476,x0,y487&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761001138479","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10325061"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76560","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":398,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.8,"schoolId":76560,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Skaith School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Skaith School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/st-joseph-school-district/skaith-school/76560"}
