We have been able to design and create amazing projects to expand their knowledge on new concepts. \r\n\r\nMy students were beyond excited to hear that their hypothetical creations on their computers could come to life. Most printers are set up to print a simple color, but this printer allowed the students to see how their creativity could sore with multiple print colors. \r\n\r\nOne particular student reached out to create a character for their PYP exhibition project. This was used to make their topic relatable to something we all know... the Lorax! They were so excited to display their creation for everyone to see.","fullyFundedDate":1773027617511,"projectUrl":"project/access-to-innovation-3d-printing-in-our/10136998/","projectTitle":"Access to Innovation: 3D Printing in Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Gullion","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8825491_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667330873919","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8825491"},{"teacherId":8825491,"projectId":9784249,"letterContent":"With your generous donation, I was able to turn reviews into games. As little readers, we are often visited by upper-grade students who come to read aloud to us, creating a wonderful community of readers across ages and inspiring a love of books.\r\n\r\nThrough these new stories, we explored important concepts like STEM, equality, and heritage. Hidden Figures introduces STEM ideas through the inspiring true story of four Black women in science, Alma and How She Got Her Name invites conversations about cultural heritage and identity, and That's Not My Name! encourages respect for unique names and personal identity. These books help broaden our students' understanding of the world and themselves.\r\n\r\nOne of my students, around the time we received these books, began to grow a strong voice and confidence. While I can't directly attribute this change to the stories, I can only imagine how empowering it was for her to see characters who look like her and share experiences that reflect her own. It's moments like these that show the deep impact diverse books can have.","fullyFundedDate":1744229647474,"projectUrl":"project/every-shade-of-story-building-an-inclus/9034412/","projectTitle":"Every Shade of Story: Building an Inclusive Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Berry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9579291_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744606959280","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wonderyears-berry"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76905","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":195,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":72.1,"schoolId":76905,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Boyd Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Boyd Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/springfield-school-district-r12/boyd-elementary-school/76905"}
