In the days leading up to Winter Break, our class explored the new titles through daily book previews, sharing two to four books each day. Students eagerly listened to snippets, compared stories, and discovered which books they were most excited to read.\r\n\r\nMany students connected with stories centered on a love of animals, such as Jane Goodall, while others were thrilled to see people of color and immigrant experiences reflected in books like Simone Biles and Other Words for Home. Some could not wait to explore Spanish-English poetry, especially those learning Spanish at home while strengthening their English skills in the classroom. Others were immediately drawn to the interactive excitement of How to Escape a Video Game, captivated by its choose-your-own-adventure style.\r\n\r\nThank you for sharing the love of reading through stories our students can connect to and see themselves in.
