We have had an enormous amount of fun with the tools you provided!\r\n\r\nMy students have LOVED being able to cut cardboard themselves. Some of them sit for their whole center time, just cutting pieces of cardboard. It seems very calming for them, which is something I didn't expect to happen.\r\n\r\nBeing 4 and 5, the kids mostly cut in straight lines, but a few are discovering that they can cut circles and triangles and other shapes. Just this week, one of my students asked for a cardboard hand and my assistant helped him create one for himself. I think we'll see more of that creativity in the days to come.\r\n\r\nThanks again for your donation. It was my original intention to allow my students to experience 3D printing for the first time. However, by the time I received the donations, all of the 3D printers were out of stock on the Donors Choose page.\r\n\r\nWhile I was a little disappointed that I couldn't order the 3D printer, thankfully Donors Choose give you the option to order other things that might be similar. I decided to try ordering a 3D pen that allows kids to draw with filament. We are still experimenting with how this can fully be utilized in our classroom, but we have had fun playing around with it! I have lots of ideas of how we can use it--from adding a dimensional texture to art, to practicing writing, to working on shapes, and the list goes on.\r\n\r\nWe were also able to a number of other fun things to our classroom, such as a flexible race car track (quite a hit!), some art supplies, and a digital microscope.
