We are using these resources during our classroom conversations, morning meetings, and throughout the day when students need help working through a big emotion. It has been wonderful to see students begin to recognize their feelings, find the words to explain what they are experiencing, and learn that it is okay to have big feelings while still making safe and respectful choices.\r\nMy students were so excited to explore the new materials! At this age, emotions can feel overwhelming, and children are still learning how to manage frustration, disappointment, and excitement. These resources give us meaningful, hands-on ways to practice those skills together. We are learning that behavior is a form of communication and that we can use strategies to help ourselves calm down, solve problems, and get back to learning. Every small step toward recognizing a feeling or choosing a positive response is worth celebrating!\r\nOur next step is to continue building these skills into our daily routines so students can begin using them more independently, both in the classroom and with their friends. We will keep practicing how to identify emotions, choose calming strategies, and work through disagreements in a kind and respectful way.
