This new rug brings a fresh, clean place for instruction.\r\nThe students were so excited to see our carpet, and they feel so special that it is new and arrived just in time for them to be in my class. It is perfect for seating 23 littles, and they fit in the circles so well. \r\nA good carpet is such a necessary thing for a kindergarten class. The students were excited to see the new rug and appreciate the comfortable space it provides. They enjoy the softness of the carpet and the designated area it creates. It was rewarding to observe their enthusiasm upon entering the classroom and noticing the rug.\r\n\r\nThe lights around the whiteboard have also been very well received. Students frequently request that I turn the lights off during video presentations so they can enjoy the ambiance afterward. Many have expressed that the lights help them feel more relaxed and calm, especially on rainy days.\r\n\r\nOur next instructional focus will be on developing and utilizing thinking teams across all subject areas, not just in math. The students have shown a strong interest in using the whiteboards that are displayed around the room, which will support this initiative.","fullyFundedDate":1746786380274,"projectUrl":"project/aesthetically-pleasing-classroom-environ/9213638/","projectTitle":"Aesthetically Pleasing Classroom Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Selig","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6845179_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y453&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743081408529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6845179"},{"teacherId":10013568,"projectId":9319214,"letterContent":"My students and I gather on this rug every single day - multiple times a day! For example, during a recent math lesson, I had the students use the whiteboards to visually explain their problem-solving process with a partner. It was so rewarding to see them express their thinking in real-time, erasing and revising as they worked through their mistakes. The whiteboards gave them the freedom to be more experimental and less worried about getting everything perfect. The floor pillows, on the other hand, helped create a relaxed atmosphere where students could spread out, talk to one another, and really get into the material in a way that felt more informal and comfortable. It was amazing to watch the students embrace the change in their environment and really dive into their learning.\r\n\r\nThe students have loved the new whiteboards! They have became their go-to for brainstorming, sketching out ideas, and even practicing new concepts. As for the floor pillows, they were an instant hit. The students love being able to sit on the floor comfortable while doing small group activities, and it made the space feel more inviting and open. I can see that the freedom to move around and be more comfortable help them feel more relaxed and willing to take risks with their thinking. It's been such a joy to watch their confidence grow, and I know these new resources are making a real difference in how they engage with their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1733258890740,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-and-team-building/8672030/","projectTitle":"Comfort and Team Building","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Selig","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6845179_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y453&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743081408529","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6845179"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77481","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":490,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":68.6,"schoolId":77481,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Benton Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Benton Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/neosho-elementary-school-district/benton-elementary-school/77481"}
