Our school is incredibly grateful for your generous donation. Because of your support, we are building a library that will open up opportunities for every one of our 7th and 8th grade students.\r\n\r\nWhen our library opens for the 2026–2027 school year, all students will have regular access through scheduled visits as well as opportunities for independent reading. Your donation is helping us create a space where every student can discover books they love and grow as readers. \r\n\r\nAlready, students are showing excitement about the new books. Even though the library does not officially open until the 2026-2027 school year, they regularly browse the collection in my classroom, pointing out favorite authors and series. Some students who were previously reluctant readers are now asking when they can check out books, seeing the stories available that they feel they can relate to.\r\n\r\nIn our library, reading will be an active and engaging experience. During independent reading time, discussions, and lessons, students will explore a wide-range of texts, from fantasy and realistic fiction, to nonfiction and graphic novels. These books help students build critical thinking skills as they analyze complex characters and themes, strengthen comprehension through creative storytelling and world-building, and expand their vocabulary through exposure to new language. \r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. Your generosity is already making a difference in our students' enthusiasm for reading, and it will continue to impact their learning for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1770644911064,"projectUrl":"project/a-library-for-literacy-books/10087409/","projectTitle":"A Library for Literacy-books","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hudson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10424621_orig.png?crop=100,100,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770040498795","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10424621"},{"teacherId":9492019,"projectId":9851585,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for giving to the Economunch: Learn, Earn, Snack project for my classroom. My classroom has it's own economy and by donating you have helped me to strengthen the concepts of wants vs. needs, budgeting, and financial responsibility for my students. \r\n\r\nI teach 7th and 8th grade special education and it is so important to help my students prepare for adulthood. Learning to manage money and create a budget is a large part of that. Students have applied for classroom jobs, accepted job offers, and receive paychecks for the work they do. Students have to pay Desk Rent weekly and taxes yearly, as well as any fines for broken classroom rules. The Classroom Store is offered weekly and students have the opportunity to spend some of their wages, while budgeting to ensure that rent is paid and money is saved for taxes. The students were thrilled to see the snack choices. Their eyes lit up and they looked forward to Fridays when they could buy some snacks! \r\n\r\nThank you again for your donations.
