We will be using the mats during the curl up test when fitness testing. I plan to use the hurdles that fit over a cone in the next two weeks. During warm ups, they will be jogging laps and able to leap over these at various heights, if they choose to. Kindergarten through 6th grade will be using them. \r\n\r\nI have shown a few classes the mats that were purchased for the curl up test and they were so excited. I could not use them yet, due to having only 6 mats available and over 25 students. I have used YOGA mats that were not being used to make the same thing to have more mats available for students. I have almost enough for half the classes for each grade, which is what I am waiting. They were excited that their backs were not hurt and several were ready to see how much they could improve by on the next test. \r\n\r\nCurrently, Kindergarten through 2nd grade are playing tee ball and learning that there is always a force out at 1st base. They are also working on striking the bat with the ball with the correct technique. 3rd through 6th grade are in their floor hockey unit. They are learning how to hold a hockey stick correctly and limit the high sticking due to safety. They are excited about playing in the game setting and improving their skills. \r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for your support and help on the equipment and cannot wait to see if the mats help improve curl up scores for fitness testing. 3rd through 6th grade fitness 3-4times a year and will be very thankful to have some padding underneath them.","fullyFundedDate":1766262910548,"projectUrl":"project/pe-s1/9965467/","projectTitle":"PE S1","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Medley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10182382_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755969158310","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10182382"},{"teacherId":9897884,"projectId":9064879,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom.
