Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in our classroom, and we are so grateful!\r\n\r\nWith your support, we have been able to create a more engaging and supportive learning environment where students can focus, stay motivated, and actively participate. We've been using the snacks to ensure students have the energy they need to learn, especially during longer lessons and testing periods. The incentives have been incredibly effective in encouraging positive behavior, effort, and goal-setting.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting moments has been during our hands-on economics activities. Students have been using the incentives as part of a classroom \"economy,\" where they earn and spend rewards while learning real-world financial concepts like saving, budgeting, and making choices. Seeing students carefully decide whether to save or spend their \"earnings\" has been both fun and meaningful—they are truly applying what they are learning in real time.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were thrilled. The excitement was immediate, and they felt proud knowing that people cared enough to support their learning. It created a strong sense of community and motivation that continues to inspire them each day.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue building on our classroom economy by introducing more complex concepts like goal setting, delayed gratification, and budgeting for larger rewards. We are also continuing to use snacks and incentives to support student focus, stamina, and positive classroom behaviors.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our students are not only learning—they are thriving. Thank you for investing in their success and helping make our classroom a place where every student feels supported and motivated.","fullyFundedDate":1776438933926,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-thrive-snacks-incenti/10149333/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Thrive: Snacks, Incentives, and Hands-On Economics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9041725_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x255,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683814809627","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9041725"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76495","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":98,"numTeachers":9,"percentFrplEligible":23,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":100,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"10.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":76495,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Leopold Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Leopold Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/leopold-school-district-r-3/leopold-elementary-school/76495"}
