As a middle school special education teacher, I see every day how the right tools can open doors for students, and your contribution has already made a meaningful difference. When my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. Several of them asked if they could start writing with the pens right away, and others began testing the highlighters to see the different colors. Having these tools as an option has already made writing feel more approachable and even fun for them.\r\n\r\n We have begun using the pens and highlighters during our reading and writing lessons. One recent project involved annotating a short story, and students used the different highlighter colors to identify character traits, key events, and unfamiliar vocabulary. This level of color-coding helped many of them stay focused and improved their ability to discuss the text afterward. The smooth-writing erasable pens have also been a tremendous support for students with sensory sensitivities, giving them a way to write comfortably and revise their work without frustration.\r\n\r\n As we move forward, my students will continue using these tools while we work on our upcoming writing unit and expanded reading responses. Your donation played a key role in helping them stay organized, express themselves more confidently, and build the skills they need to succeed. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and for investing in my students. Your kindness has brought both practical support and genuine joy into our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1759266542840,"projectUrl":"project/erase-and-embrace-learning/9508172/","projectTitle":"Erase and Embrace Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9541591_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717005893871","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ibee-lieve"},{"teacherId":5352979,"projectId":9441695,"letterContent":"As a middle school Spanish teacher, I am always looking for ways to engage my students in ways that not only hold interest, but to make sure they are learning new content. This age group is a challenging time not only for themselves but for adults in charge of them.\r\n\r\nBeing able to utilize kahoot for interactive lessons has been a success. I am able to deliver instruction in multiple ways- inserting slides, notes, videos' etc. Then it allows me to do formative checks to make sure they understand throughout the lesson. The formative checks are in a game format, which my students are enthused about. In addition, I can send the link to those who are absent and they can access the lesson at home. Some of my pictures show this resource in action.\r\n\r\nThe teachers pay teachers gift card gives me access to a multitude of resources already created- by teachers with classroom experience. I look for creative assignments and projects that have worked for others. I am including at least one picture of students involved in a Spanish grammar scavenger hunt.
