I am teaching them both the 1 bunny ear method and the 2 bunny ear method, and I am even going to look up a third way to see if there is another technique that might work well for my students! When students finish their work early, the practice shoes are always available for them to grab and work on their skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were so excited! Some of my students already knew how to tie their shoes, but many did not. With so many children wearing shoes without laces these days, this is a skill that some students simply haven't had the opportunity to learn. One little boy told me that once he learns to tie his shoes, he will be able to tie his hockey skates by himself and won't have to ask his dad for help. That moment reminded me just how important this little project can be.\r\n\r\nMy goal is for every student in my class—and eventually students in other classrooms—to be able to proudly say, \"I CAN TIE MY SHOES!\" We even purchased little stars to put on their shoelaces when they master the skill. I can't wait to see those stars proudly displayed around our school!\r\n\r\nThank you for helping my students build confidence, independence, and a skill they will use for years to come. Having their own headphones allows students to focus on the story they are listening to without distractions and gives them the opportunity to learn at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is having new headphones that are comfortable and ready for them to use. They are especially excited to be able to plug in, get comfortable, and dive into a good book! The headphone holders are also a huge help because they give our classroom a special place to keep our headphones organized and ready to use.\r\n\r\nSome of my students have really warmed to this technology because they love listening to stories and being able to experience books in a different way. Students who may sometimes struggle with reading independently can especially benefit from listening to a book while following along. When I received the books you purchased, I was so excited because you chose three of my students' absolute favorite series: *Fly Guy, Junie B. Jones,* and *Horribly Harry*. These books have quickly become some of the most loved books in our classroom, and having chapter books of their very own has made reading even more exciting for my second graders.\r\n\r\nMy students are using these books every day in our classroom. One of my biggest goals is to help my students understand that reading is not just something they do for school—it is something they can enjoy. They love choosing a book, finding a comfortable spot, and getting lost in a story. Some students immediately gravitated toward *Fly Guy*, while others could not wait to read about the adventures of *Junie B. Jones* or see what kind of trouble *Horribly Harry* would get into next.\r\n\r\nThe reaction when I first showed them the books was priceless! The excitement in the room was immediate. They are learning that good readers don't just read the words—they think about the story, make connections, and ask questions.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things to see is students recommending books to one another. I hear them saying, \"You should read this one!\" or excitedly telling a friend about a funny part they just read. These conversations are helping us build a classroom where reading is something we can share and enjoy together.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue growing as independent and confident readers. We will continue practicing comprehension skills and talking about characters, important events, and lessons we can learn from stories. We will also compare characters from *Fly Guy, Junie B. Jones,* and *Horribly Harry* and discuss which characters we connect with and why.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, I want my students to begin thinking of themselves as readers. Some children may not yet see themselves as strong readers, but finding books they love can change that. When a child becomes excited to pick up a book and wants to keep reading, that is a huge success.
