While many of our donors use technology at home, seeing it in a classroom setting can look a bit different. In our room, headphones allow students to fully engage with digital lessons, videos, and interactive programs without distractions or interruptions. Most importantly, students can have text read aloud to them privately, which supports comprehension, confidence, and independence—especially for struggling readers.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students is having the freedom to work at their own pace. They love being able to replay instructions, listen closely to stories, and focus deeply on their tasks without worrying about background noise or bothering others. It makes learning feel more personal and accessible.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to this new technology. Some who were previously hesitant to participate are now more confident because they can listen to directions or reading support as many times as they need. Others who are easily distracted are better able to stay focused and complete their work.
