Because of you, our students now have access to reading pens that will help make learning more accessible, build independence, and give them more confidence in the classroom.\r\n\r\nIn a special education classroom, every student learns differently. Some students need extra time, additional support, or different tools to help them be successful. Reading can be especially challenging for students who struggle with decoding, recognizing words, or understanding what they are reading. Sometimes, something as simple as having a tool that can read words and sentences aloud can make all the difference. These reading pens will give our students another way to access learning without always having to wait for an adult to help.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest things we work toward in our classroom is independence. We want our students to feel confident trying new things, completing activities, and working through challenges. These reading pens will allow students to scan words and have them read aloud, helping them participate in activities that might otherwise be difficult. Instead of getting frustrated or feeling stuck when they come across words they cannot read, they will have a tool they can use to help themselves.\r\n\r\nThese pens will be used throughout our classroom during reading activities, independent work, vocabulary practice, and other daily learning opportunities. They will help students access materials at their own pace and provide additional support as they work toward their individual goals. For some students, this may mean being able to read a sentence independently. For others, it may mean being able to complete an assignment with less assistance. No matter how big or small the accomplishment may seem, those little steps toward independence are HUGE in our classroom!\r\n\r\nMore importantly, these reading pens will help create opportunities for our students to feel successful. We want them to experience the excitement of learning something new and the pride that comes from being able to do something on their own. When students have the right tools and support, they are capable of so much more than people sometimes realize.\r\n\r\nAs a special education teacher, I love seeing those moments when something finally clicks for a student or when they realize they can do something they once thought was too difficult. Those moments are what make teaching so rewarding. Your generosity is helping create more of those opportunities for our students.\r\n\r\nThank you for seeing the importance of providing resources that meet students where they are and help them grow. You are not just providing reading pens; you are providing opportunities, encouragement, confidence, and a little more independence for students who deserve every chance to succeed.\r\n\r\nWe cannot thank you enough for investing in our classroom and believing in our students. Your kindness will make a difference in their everyday learning, and we are so excited to put these reading pens to use!\r\n\r\n**Thank you for helping our students find their voices, build their confidence, and discover that they CAN do hard things!**","fullyFundedDate":1792861581454,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-special-education-students-read/10692093/","projectTitle":"Help My Special Education Students Read with Confidence and Independence!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7829282_orig.jpg?crop=2432,2432,x0,y275&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1791207778553","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maegan"},{"teacherId":7829282,"projectId":10616357,"letterContent":"**A Big Thank You for Supporting Our Special Education Classroom!**\r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this project possible and helping provide snacks for our special education classroom! Your generosity means more than you know. Having snacks available throughout the school day makes a big difference for our students. Snacks help keep little bellies full, give students the energy they need to learn, and provide a little extra motivation throughout the day.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, every student has different needs, and sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. Having snacks readily available helps us meet those needs and ensures our students have something to enjoy when they need a little boost. Snacks can also be a great way to celebrate accomplishments, encourage participation, and reward students for working hard.\r\n\r\nWe work hard every day to create a classroom where our students feel comfortable, supported, and successful. Having these extra resources allows us to focus on what matters most: helping our students learn, grow, build independence, and reach their individual goals.\r\n\r\nWe are so thankful for the generous people who choose to support our classroom.
