Many of my students struggle with motivation, confidence, and healthy outlets for stress. These new resources have quickly become a positive way for them to build both physical strength and personal discipline.\r\n\r\nWe have incorporated the weight bench into our daily routine as part of a structured fitness and wellness time. Students take turns using the equipment, track their progress, and encourage one another as they work toward personal fitness goals. What has been especially meaningful is watching students who often feel discouraged in academic settings experience success and pride as they improve their strength and endurance.\r\n\r\nWhen the equipment first arrived, the excitement in the room was immediate. Several students gathered around asking when they could try it and began talking about their own fitness goals. One student who rarely participates in class proudly told the group how many reps he completed and asked if he could track his progress over the next few weeks. Moments like that show how powerful hands-on resources can be in building confidence and community.\r\n\r\nBeyond physical fitness, the equipment has helped us talk about perseverance, goal-setting, and healthy habits. These lessons reach far beyond the classroom. Your generosity has provided my students with an opportunity to channel their energy in a positive way, build confidence, and support one another.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and helping provide tools that support both their physical and personal growth.","fullyFundedDate":1770516262522,"projectUrl":"project/stronger-every-day-fitness-for-all-stu/9803485/","projectTitle":"“Stronger Every Day: Fitness for All Students”","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8329441_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y161&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744218464536","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8329441"},{"teacherId":8329441,"projectId":10117976,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have new board games and books that make learning fun, interactive, and collaborative. When our new rocks, fossils, and lab equipment arrived, the excitement in the classroom was electric. Students rushed over to the bins of rocks, geodes, and fossils like it was Christmas morning—picking them up, passing them around, and asking questions like, \"Is this really from a volcano?\" or \"How old is this fossil?\" For many of them, this was their very first time holding a real piece of Earth's history in their hands.\r\n\r\nWe recently completed a unit on Missouri's geosphere, and thanks to your donation, my students were able to directly observe and test real samples of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. We even used our new tools to examine fossil imprints and layers in rocks, connecting them to geologic time and local landforms. One student said, \"I always thought science was just reading and taking notes, but this feels like we're discovering stuff for real.\" That moment reminded me exactly why these resources matter.\r\n\r\nAs we continue into the school year, your donation will keep impacting our classroom through hands-on labs, earth science modeling projects, and even student-led investigations. Up next, we're designing models of how Missouri's landforms—including karst features like caves—were formed over time. Your generosity has transformed my science classroom into a place of curiosity, exploration, and deeper learning. Thank you for helping my students become real scientists.","fullyFundedDate":1746786518155,"projectUrl":"project/unearthing-potential-exploring-earth-an/9249707/","projectTitle":"Unearthing Potential: Exploring Earth and Space Together","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8329441_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y161&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744218464536","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8329441"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77313","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":558,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":77313,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Aurora High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Aurora High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/aurora-school-district-r8/aurora-high-school/77313"}
