We have been using the donated resources to create and care for a space where students can observe butterflies, pollinators, and plants firsthand. Instead of simply reading about habitats, life cycles, and ecosystems, students now have the opportunity to watch these concepts come to life right in front of them.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when they saw the new materials and learned that they would have a part in creating the garden. They immediately began asking questions, making observations, and talking about what we might see once the garden becomes established. One of my favorite parts has been watching them realize that this isn't just a \"school project\"—they are helping create an actual habitat that other students can enjoy and learn from, too.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue caring for the garden and using it as an outdoor learning laboratory. Students will observe which plants attract different pollinators, document changes over time, look for evidence of butterfly life cycles, and use their observations to ask questions and conduct investigations. We also hope to use what we learn to make decisions about how we can continue improving the habitat.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us give our students the opportunity to learn by doing, observing, questioning, and discovering.
