It was very rewarding to watch them figure out how to look up words and then share that with struggling partners. Then, as we read other passages in class, students started to recognize spelling and vocabulary words. The students have even started saying, \"Just look it up in the dictionary,\" when others get stumped in class.\r\n\r\nWe will start using the thesaurus companion next nine weeks. I anticipate it being very helpful with synonym and antonym practice and with the students' writing and trying to vary wording and sentence structure.\r\n \r\nThank you for providing us with such a valuable resource!","fullyFundedDate":1751985742374,"projectUrl":"project/real-books-please/9151548/","projectTitle":"Real Books, Please!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barefield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9939244"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16626","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":196,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":48,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":45.5,"schoolId":16626,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about West Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"West Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/starkville-oktibbeha-school-district/west-oktibbeha-elementary-school/16626"}
