We have used virtual reality to review protein synthesis, identify different parts of the cell, and explore the inside of a cell in an immersive environment. Students were able to participate in the process of transcription by putting together codons and then enter another virtual environment where they pieced together amino acids to build a protein. These experiences help students visualize complex processes and better understand how the different components of a cell work together.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is being able to actually enter a cell and interact with the structures and processes they have been studying. Rather than memorizing the steps of protein synthesis, they can actively participate in the process. Students especially enjoy the interactive challenges, such as assembling codons and connecting amino acids to form proteins. The ability to explore and manipulate biological structures in a virtual environment has made these lessons much more engaging and memorable.\r\n\r\nStudents who benefit especially from visual and hands-on learning have responded particularly well to the VR technology. I have seen students become more engaged when they can physically interact with the concepts instead of relying solely on traditional notes and textbook diagrams. The headset gives students an opportunity to explore Biology in a way that makes abstract concepts more concrete, helping them build a stronger understanding of the material.","fullyFundedDate":1787899564757,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-biology-to-life-with-virtual-re/10240727/","projectTitle":"Bringing Biology to Life with Virtual Reality","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Q.
