The microscopes were used the first day they arrived! The title of the project was obervation of human cells. The students observed prepared slides of human cells and drew pictures of the cells under 10x magnification and 40x magnification. We also discussed the importance of microscopes and and how they magify things. \r\n\r\nAs soon as we brought out the microscope to look at the human blood smear, the students were so excited and they gathered around to each look at the sample. To continue our lesson, we plan to observe structures from other organisms such as horseflies as well as it's internal structures.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to use the microscope to collect cells from out own bodies such as animal cells from our cheeks and also cells from an onion's skin. The purpose of this project is to show students that we are truely made of cells.\r\nThanks to you, this has truely been a success for my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768411010029,"projectUrl":"project/science-can-be-fun-the-home-of-future-s/9952915/","projectTitle":"Science Can Be Fun! the Home of Future Scientists","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10379869"},{"teacherId":4629057,"projectId":9939965,"letterContent":"As we move into our next unit on Inquiry, students will build on the foundational skills they've developed with these materials. This has helped them better engage with the material and build confidence in their learning.\r\nYour donation of cleaning supplies has also helped us maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for students to learn each day. A well-maintained classroom allows students to feel more relaxed and ready to focus on their work.\r\nPencils may seem simple, but they are essential tools that ensure every student has what they need to participate fully in lessons, complete assignments, and express their ideas. Having these supplies readily available removes barriers and keeps learning moving forward.\r\nFinally, the treats you provided have been wonderful motivators and small celebrations for our students. These moments of encouragement help build positive classroom culture and remind students that their hard work is recognized.\r\nBecause of your kindness and support, our students are better equipped to learn, grow, and succeed.
