Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in my classroom at W.A. Higgins Middle School Academy of Fine Arts. Because of your kindness, my students now have access to books that encourage them to read, think critically, and explore new perspectives. These books are helping my students strengthen essential literacy skills such as identifying themes, making inferences, analyzing characters, expanding vocabulary, and supporting their responses with textual evidence. Most importantly, they are learning that reading is not just something they do for a grade, but something that can inspire, educate, and empower them.\r\n\r\nIn my 8th grade ELA classroom, reading is an opportunity for students to grow academically and personally. We incorporate independent reading, classroom discussions, partner activities, and writing assignments that allow students to make meaningful connections between literature and their own lives. One of the most rewarding parts of this project is seeing students who once struggled to find an interest in reading become more curious about books. Having a variety of texts gives students the opportunity to discover stories that reflect their experiences while introducing them to different cultures, perspectives, and possibilities. My goal is to create a classroom environment where every student feels confident, capable, and excited about becoming a stronger reader.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their futures! As an educator, there is no greater feeling than knowing that others care enough to support the success of our children. Your donations have provided more than just books; they have provided opportunities for imagination, confidence, academic growth, and a lifelong love of learning. My Wildcats and I are truly grateful for your generosity. Because of YOU, we are building stronger readers, one book, one page, and one student at a time!\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt appreciation,\r\n\r\nMs. Thomas\r\n8th Grade ELA Teacher\r\nHead Cheer Coach\r\nW.A.
