Since receiving the new resources, my students have been more engaged, excited, and confident in their learning than ever before.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment they walked in and saw the materials, their faces lit up. One student said, \"Wait... this is for us? Like, we get to use this every day?\" It was a truly special moment that reminded me how much these tools matter to them. These resources have made our classroom feel more like a place built for them where their learning is supported and their curiosity is encouraged.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the materials for a range of activities, but one project stands out: \"we used the new resources to help create college lapbooks. They are folders that are decorated to reflect what college the student has chosen. It's been amazing to see them take ownership of their learning and collaborate so confidently with their peers.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're building on this momentum with a hands-on college challenge where they'll design and promote their choice of careers. Your support laid the foundation for this growth and it's only the beginning.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools they need to succeed. Being a teacher, using the new resources like materials, or simple supplies often creates a lot of enthusiasm and opens up creative possibilities.\r\n\r\nFor example, imagine a student who just got a nice notebook and a fancy pen for their daily work. The students first reaction was awe, eager to see how they could use it to keep up with all that they had to do. \r\n\r\nAs for the next steps, a as teacher I might plan to integrate these tools into more complex projects. Perhaps they're starting a unit on the college of their choice, and students will use the supplies to help create a presentation to present in class. They could even present their final projects to the rest of the school or community.\r\n\r\nDonors would surely be excited to hear that your contributions really transform learning experiences and bring new levels of engagement to students.","fullyFundedDate":1734445910852,"projectUrl":"project/just-a-kid-with-everything/8851632/","projectTitle":"Just a Kid with EveryThing...","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Banks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8189016_orig.jpg?crop=660,660,x0,y77&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1644256327625","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8189016"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12790","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":806,"numTeachers":51,"percentFrplEligible":82,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":66,"percentWhite":28,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":21.4,"schoolId":12790,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brookhaven High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brookhaven High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/brookhaven-school-district/brookhaven-high-school/12790"}
