Since receiving the supplies, we have already seen the positive impact they have made on our classroom environment.\r\n\r\nHaving a digital clock has been beneficial for all students to utilize for time management purposes. Students have shared that the digital clock helps them understand how much time is left to work on an activity, project, and in class. It allows them to focus and gives them a visual representation that keeps them on task responsibly. Further, the digital clock is easy for students to read and understand. Students have access to both the analog school clock and digital clock to support them in their time management.\r\n\r\nThe charging block has also allowed more students to actively engage in class. Our English curriculum, Amplify, is a digital program that requires students to use their Chromebooks daily. Previously, many students faced challenges due to uncharged devices, and we only had one accessible outlet in the classroom. With the charging block, students now have access to twenty charging ports, ensuring that all students have a powered device ready for learning. Having a designated charging station has promoted organization and has strongly supported our technology-based learning.\r\n\r\nStudents were ecstatic to have additional copies of the Hunger Games series, Percy Jackson series and the graphic novel, Frizzy. After hearing from multiple students that they were waiting to read the series or book but that they were being read already, I knew it was important to have more copies. Students have already picked up all of the books (10 in total) and are enjoying them when they finish work early and during independent reading time in the classroom. \r\n\r\n6th graders create many projects during the year. Next week, they will begin crafting and writing for the Greek Mythology statue museum. By having extra felt tip pens, markers, pencils, and erasers, students are set up for success when it comes to working on their project. Students have a wide variety of supplies, but they all have access to more supplies per student due to the fact that we now have enough felt tip markers and pencils for all members of the classroom community. \r\n\r\nLastly, 6th graders were extremely happy to see all the candy and snacks that came in. In my classroom, I give out a piece of candy to a student for following the Oriole Way (being respectful, responsible, and resourceful), for being kind to others, going above and beyond, and for winning review games. By having access to more prizes and rewards, I am able to highlight all of the amazing things my students do daily. It is also a great way for us to celebrate monumental moments like the end of a trimester or a unit.\r\n\r\nWe can't thank you enough for your support of our classroom. It means the world to us. Last school year we had many students come to the counseling office or nurse office to get new clothes. Sometimes they spilled on themselves, sometimes they had an accident, sometimes they injured themselves and got blood on their clothing. In many cases we had to contact guardians to bring extra clothes to school. This was so disruptive to the student's day, as they would have to wait for someone to come with extra clothing. It was also extremely disrupting to the guardian, who may have been sleeping for a night shift, or may have had to leave work. Socks, underwear, and pants are the most common need and are hard to come by.\r\n\r\nThis school year has a much different story. This school year students have spare clothing available - right here in the school! We have cabinets between the counseling office and nurse office that contain all the clothing in many sizes. Students can come visit when in need and are relieved to see that we have their size available.\r\n\r\nWith this generous gift, we are able to give middle school students dignity and autonomy during their school day. They have less distractions, they can just come and change clothes if needed, then continue on with their school day. No calls to parents, no embarrassing/ill fitting spare clothing to wear for the day. This may seem like a small thing but has a great impact!","fullyFundedDate":1757465172165,"projectUrl":"project/spare-clothing-for-students/9340085/","projectTitle":"Spare Clothing for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Webb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10030756"},{"teacherId":10002469,"projectId":9712636,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation so I could get an air purifier and germ fighter for my health office.
