Through our Advisory classes, our middle school students have been learning about the importance of culturally relevant books. They want to share the power of culturally relevant books with our elementary students! Culturally relevant books allow more students to see themselves in the school environment, which helps to create equitable learning opportunities and foster a love for reading. Our students are looking forward to sharing their love of reading with our elementary school partners! Due to Covid-19, schools are unable to have outside visitors. OMS Student Council members will create read aloud videos of each book, which our elementary partners could use during the different learning models.
