Thanks to your contributions, our students now have access to VR headsets, a charging cart, and accessories that enable them to create art in entirely new ways. Using programs like Open Brush, students can step inside a three-dimensional space to draw, paint, and sculpt around themselves. This immersive experience helps students better understand concepts such as form, scale, and perspective, while encouraging experimentation, problem-solving, and creative risk-taking in a hands-on and engaging way.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is that their artwork is no longer flat or confined to paper or canvas. They can create interactive environments and explore their work from every angle, with many describing it as \"stepping inside their imagination.\" The technology feels innovative and empowering, and students are more motivated to push their ideas further because the process feels dynamic, professional, and relevant to the world they see beyond school.\r\n\r\nThis technology has been especially meaningful for students who struggle with traditional art materials or who thrive as hands-on and technology-driven learners. Some students who lack confidence drawing on paper feel more successful in VR, where mistakes are easily corrected, and experimentation is encouraged. Others who are interested in gaming, digital media, or design are discovering new ways to express themselves creatively and envision future career paths. Your generosity has helped make art more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for all of our students, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1755891184950,"projectUrl":"project/vr-in-the-art-classroom/9275223/","projectTitle":"VR in the Art Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Page","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10005062"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_110609","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":687,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":43,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":110609,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Ulm High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Ulm High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/new-ulm-public-school-district-88/new-ulm-high-school/110609"}
