The iPads have brought learning to life, making it more engaging and interactive. Students can now access a variety of educational resources, participate in digital activities, and create their own content. This has not only improved their academic skills but also fostered creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.\r\n\r\nThe project has also increased student motivation and enthusiasm for learning. With the iPads, students are more excited to participate in class and take ownership of their learning. They're able to work at their own pace, explore new concepts, and receive immediate feedback. This has led to a more personalized and effective learning experience.\r\n\r\nI'm grateful for your support in making this project possible. By providing clear and high-quality audio, the speaker system has significantly improved students' ability to focus and engage with instructional content.\r\n\r\nThe technology has been a game-changer in our classroom. The immersive audio experience has increased student participation and motivation, leading to a more interactive and supportive learning environment. Additionally, the speaker system has enabled us to incorporate more multimedia resources into our lessons, making learning more engaging and fun for our students.\r\n\r\nThe interactive and supportive learning environment created by the speaker system has also fostered a love of learning among my students. They are more confident, more engaged, and more motivated than ever before. Your investment in our project has sent a powerful message to my students: that they are valued, deserving of the best educational experience possible, and capable of achieving greatness. To begin, I want to say that the majority of my students come from multilingual homes, and, for many, English is not the language predominantly spoken at home. For them, the classroom is the main point of exposure to and meaningful engagement with literature; access to a range of age-appropriate and relevant works has been absolutely crucial to their learning, as well as some aspects of their intellectual growth and curiosity. \r\n\r\nFor many of my students, reading does not only expand vocabulary; it also poses new opportunities for growing minds and personalities to be expressed, recognized and nourished. Exposure to a range of poetry books, plays and graphic novels showed just how many different ways to write and read there are; for my students, reading \"differently\" meant school was more fun and personally engaging. An example of this would be our retelling/summarizing - in our own words - a book from the bookshelves: a student would spend time with, and try to make us (the listeners) fall in love with a book they'd chosen, based on their own rendering of it. This, as you might imagine, was so much fun for all.\r\n\r\nThere are two very specific examples I'd like to share, though. One of my students struggles with attention, guidelines and keeping still; however, he fell in love with some of the graphic novels that this donation brought to our shelves. That was just the beginning, though, because this particular student ended up subsequently reading three whole books that helped him make up for missing homework and bring his grade up! On the other hand, one of our very new 8th grade students has had a hard time adjusting to the new environment; having a bookshelf to pick from and share her summaries/reading impressions has contributed to her feeling more confident and even speaking up quite a bit more during class. :)\r\n\r\nI hope this letter brings you joy, and tells you just how much - and how lasting - of an effect this donation has had and continues to have.","fullyFundedDate":1727696448946,"projectUrl":"project/our-lines-in-the-sand-books-to-map-our/8833987/","projectTitle":"Our Lines in The Sand: Books to Map Our Voices","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nikolina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9781100"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106957","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":565,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":88,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 10","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.5,"schoolId":106957,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Universal Academy Charter School - Central on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Universal Academy Charter School - Central","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/minnesota-department-of-education/universal-academy-charter-school/106957"}
