Having the Upfront Magazines accessible for my students has increased their understanding not only of what is going on in the world from a global perspective, but also has caused them to question things happening at the local level as well. Along with global awareness, these magazines have allowed students to experience cross-curricular learning, as these magazines assist in making vocabulary connections in Language Arts and Social Studies, something that we strive for in the field of education. \r\n\r\nWhen asked to reflect, my students shared how they really enjoy the debating the issue topics, the global current events found in each issue and historical articles that are featured each month.
