The excitement was felt through the whole classroom and they could not wait to get started. However, to avoid mayhem, I introduce things slowly. The puzzle kits were a huge hit and challenged the kids. They used creativity, teamwork, and perserverance as some of them were REALLY hard. However, many of them accomplished their goal and started a second one. \r\nAs our new year starts, I will make sure I mention to the kids the generous people that donated to our classroom so that they could continue to enjoy all that I was able to purchase because of all of you. \r\nIn the beginning of the year, I assign teams to work through each kit so they know what is involved in each one. This takes about 2-3 weeks. After they all have worked through each kit, they are allowed to switch partners. It is important to extablish a community in the classroom and choosing partners while accomplishing a non-graded activity, makes the expereince more enjoyable.
